Doesn't look too impressive, does it? Allow me to introduce myself. I'm an undergraduate student of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and you've stumbled into my random little niche of webspace. Right now, I'm just using this page to store shenanigans for a class that I'm currently taking: Science of the Web.
The class has, through a number of assignments, made us do a number of questionable things to interact with the internet and see how it works. Examples include:
- Using an invisible 'image' loader to accrue unique IP hits for a voting-based assignment
- Attempting to obtain page-rank on an obscure term.
Our professor is a hilarious and crazy kind of guy, who has elicited responses from his students in this class in a rather hilarious spectrum of anger and bemusement. To say the least, it's quite a show.
If you happened to read all the way down here (thanks for taking your time!), I would humbly request that, if it were not too much trouble for you, to plunk a link to this place somewhere on the internet. After all, Google Pageranking respects the legion! Feel free to e-mail me at zizhuang at andrew dot cmu dot edu if you've any questions about this or any other of our crazy little projects. :)
Yes, I know that the internet in general dislikes some of the things done here. However, this isn't really meant to be malicious; we're not competing for any position in a way that would dilute the Google search results - consider it a friendly exercise in learning more about the internet. Or, at the very least, they told us to do it! <_<
See you later!
